In Regards to the Recent Site Suspension
Published on August 18th, 2009 @ 03:12:58 pm , using 96 words, 5742 views
For those loyal readers, you may have noticed that the site was down for a majority of the day. Though I may have averted a domain loss earlier this year, my domain is hosted by a friend of mine who was unable to pay his hosting fees. Thus, when his site (http://www.otm-comics.com) went down, mine went as well.
Through some collaboration and money exchange, all of our sites are back online and active (at least until November 18, which is when his next dues are to be paid). Let's hope he's learned his lesson! ![]()

ActualBlizzard.com - New Lease on Life!
Published on June 23rd, 2009 @ 01:39:39 am , using 65 words, 173 views
Minor Announcement
ActualBlizzard was in danger of expiring this Saturday and I've been unsure as to whether I should go through paying for a new lease or letting it expire. Obviously, as evidenced by the title, I chose to extend AB's life by a year. It's anyone's guess as to whether this was a good decision or not. Let's hope it was for the better!

ActualBlizzard Comics!

You've read that correctly. I intend on developing a comic, of sorts, as I have reintroduced myself into the world of art once again. (It's amazing what a little free time will do for the imagination!) Below is the (temporary) cover page for Volume 1, Chapter 1.
Pre-FAQ FAQ
How many chapters do I intend on making?
Six.
How many volumes do I intend on making?
I intend on completing one. Whether I continue is beyond me at this point.
What is it about?
Well, it's an epic story about... (information removed).
What will the art style be?
I'm drawing a lot of inspiration from Japanese manga for this, so that's the style I'm going with.
How will it be read?
Though some people are trying to convince me otherwise, I would like for it to be right to left versus left to right.
Why April 15?
Don't know. It could be earlier, it could be later - I just needed a day in the near, but not immediate, future. Though the image may claim otherwise, I do not guarantee anything regarding April 15.
Are you ALREADY replacing this website with a comic website?
Nope! This section of the website will remain the same, the comics will appear at http://comics.actualblizzard.com.
Can I see the picture already?!
Sure:

A Look at ActualBlizzard's Past...
Published on March 15th, 2009 @ 09:19:27 pm , using 427 words, 89 views
Here it is, the brand new ActualBlizzard.com! This is where I will place all of my randomness, for the world to see. ActualBlizzard has been through a lot of incarnations in the past, each one different from the last. A blog site, however, seemed the most fitting for my inability to focus on one thing at a time. (Hopefully no one will be confused if I go from talking about Pokemon to discussing the meaning of life...)
As it is the first post, I decided it would be fitting to take a look at the logos of ActualBlizzard's past...

Sleek and dark was how ActualBlizzard was first started. It was a place for my randomness, but it wasn't organized, nor did it really have a purpose. (Nor was it used, really...)

Staying with the dark tones, this was intended to be the logo for a user-directed site. In this incarnation, I mostly wanted the site to be for my friends and I (though anyone else could join as well) to publish our "projects" or works (art, writing, etc.). I even had a login procedure set up to run. I just couldn't figure out how to create individualized user pages.

In the third incarnation, ActualBlizzard was supposed to be for my friends and I to upload projects. I borrowed the font style from the previous logo for the abstract and kept the dark tones. This incarnation lasted the longest, though was never used. (Sensing a pattern yet?)

Fourth incarnation. Yes, fourth - all under the same owner, mind you. This would be called the "never went live" logo. The placeholder for the website was all that went up for the public to see. This version, aptly named "Bulletin Board version" was designed to look like a bulletin board with updates from me. It was blog-like, but more focused on my projects and such. This site removed black completely from the background and became much brighter.

Welcome to the fifth (and hopefully final!) incarnation of ActualBlizzard.com. I've kept a few colors the same, this is mostly based off of where "ActualBlizzard" came from. 'Blizzard' itself is short for Blizzard Blue, my favorite Crayola crayon color - which is represented throughout the site (including the text you are reading right now). (Actual really means nothing). The other color (green) is Crayola's Inch Worm, which replaced the Blizzard Blue color itself. The site is brighter than previous incarnations (especially the logo/header), but still has some nice contrast (at least I hope so!) Hopefully it'll stay - only time can tell, though.
